This past Saturday, Buffalo Bills defensive lineman Ed Oliver was arrested on misdemeanor DWI and weapons charges, but he will still be taking part in the Bills' offseason program, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Pelissero states that Buffalo will let the legal process play out with Oliver.

Oliver, who played his collegiate football at the University of Houston, was originally selected by the Bills with the ninth overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft.

He played in every game during his rookie campaign and was impressive, finishing with 43 tackles, five sacks and a forced fumble.

The 22-year-old spent three seasons at Houston, arriving at the school in 2016. It didn't take Oliver long to make a significant impact, as he racked up 65 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, five sacks a couple of forced fumbles and six passes defended in his freshman campaign.

The following season, Oliver posted similar numbers, registering 73 tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, a pair of forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.

Oliver capped off his NCAA career by recording 54 stops, 14.5 tackles for loss, three sacks and a forced fumble in his junior year.

Meanwhile, Buffalo is coming off of a surprising 2019-20 campaign in which it won 10 games and actually challenged the New England Patriots for the AFC East division title.

The Bills ultimately earned a Wild Card spot, representing just their second playoff appearance since 2000. They fell to the Houston Texans in the Wild Card Round.

With Tom Brady taking his talents to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, some view Buffalo as the favorite to win the division in 2020.
