The Buffalo Bills made a flurry of roster moves on Saturday to trim their roster down to 53 players. They added an extension to their transaction report. According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Bills have agreed to a massive contract extension with Tre'Davious White.

Given how the cornerback market has increased in recent years, White's deal was expected to be a lucrative one. And shortly after the news was originally reported by Rapoport, he revealed the full details of the deal with the Bills.

As a result of his new contract with the Bills, White now becomes the highest-paid cornerback in terms of average salary. If he achieves his Pro Bowl incentives, White has a chance to increase his deal to $70 million over four years.

And to add to Rapoport's report, ESPN's Adam Schefter iterated that White's $55 million in guarantees from the Bills is the most among cornerbacks.

This move not only gives the Bills fresh confidence about their long-term future; it is also a morale-boosting move everyone in the organization can recognize as a sign of progress and maturity.

Good organizations — not just in the NFL, but any sport — take care of their best players. More precisely, they do so before a season begins if they can help it. The Bills have done exactly that with Tre White. Everyone in Orchard Park, N.Y., should feel galvanized and emboldened.

This season might occur with few to no fans in NFL stadiums, but it remains a big season if the 16 games and the postseason can be played. The Bills are in prime position to overtake the New England Patriots in the AFC East.

Securing Tre White gives the Bills a spring in their step as they try to dethrone the longtime kings of their division.
