Josh Allen and Gabriel Davis putting up insane playoff performances weren't though to get the Buffalo Bills to the AFC Championship Game. The Kanas City Chiefs got the best of them by a score of 42-36.

The Bills lost in overtime after their defense got marched all over by Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense. Buffalo had allowed the game into the extra period after failing to stop the Chiefs with 13 seconds left in regulation. Mahomes made quick work of the Bills' defense, leading a game-winning drive to send the Chiefs.

The controversy of the NFL's overtime rules was relitigated following the game. The discussion over just one offense getting a turn in the extra period returned. Mahomes was in Allen's shoes in the 2019 AFC Championship Game, when the New England Patriots won the coin toss and scored a touchdown to win it. It's Allen and the Bills who get the short end of the stick, now.

Bills general manager Brandon Beane offered his take on the NFL's overtime rules. He said that he would have preferred to see Allen get the ball back and offered up the idea of having different overtime rules for the regular season and postseason.

Although the Bills' defense could have prevented the loss by making a stop or forcing a field goal, they would have had a much better shot if Allen had a chance. The possibility of having both offenses get a shot in overtime is too much for fans of football to not think about.
