The Buffalo Bills are meeting with former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Laquon Treadwell on Tuesday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Treadwell was cut by the Vikings this past weekend.

The 24-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Mississippi, was originally selected by Minnesota in the first round (23rd pick overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.

In spite of his draft position, Treadwell never lived up to expectations.

He played in just nine games during his rookie campaign, logging one catch for 15 yards. He then followed that up by appearing in all 16 contests in 2017, catching 20 passes for 200 yards.

Treadwell showed a bit more improvement last year, participating in 15 games and hauling in 35 receptions for 302 yards and a touchdown, but his production was still well below what the Vikings anticipated when they drafted him.

Thanks to a crowded receiving corps that includes Stefon Diggs, Adam Thielen and now Josh Doctson, Minnesota decided to cut ties with Treadwell.

Of course, Treadwell is still very young, so there is plenty of time for him to turn things around. An up-and-coming team like the Bills certainly seem like a desirable landing spot for a young player looking to revitalize his career.

Buffalo's receiving corps consists of Zay Jones, Cole Beasley, John Brown, Robert Foster and Andre Roberts, so there might be room for Treadwell to actually make a contribution.

The Bills will open up their regular season on Sunday when they head on the road to take on the New York Jets.
