The Buffalo Bills could try to extend cornerback Tre'Davious White this offseason, according to Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com.

Louis-Jacques notes that White could end up being the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL if he does receive an extension.

White is coming off of a breakout 2019 campaign in which he racked up 58 tackles, a sack, six interceptions, a couple of forced fumbles and 17 passes defended en route to a Pro Bowl appearance and a First-Team All-Pro selection.

The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate football at LSU, was originally selected by the Bills in the first round (27th pick overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He played in every game during his rookie season, finishing with 69 tackles, four picks, a forced fumble, a pair of fumble recoveries, 18 passes defended and a defensive touchdown.

The following year, White once again appeared in every contest, registering 54 tackles, two interceptions and eight passes defended.

White has missed just one game in his NFL career, which came this past season.

The Shreveport, La. native is entering the final year of his current deal and is slated to make $1.841 million in 2020, and Louis-Jacques notes that a source said White is too good to have to prove himself for a fifth-year option.

With Buffalo being a team on the rise largely due to a top-flight defense, you would imagine that the Bills would certainly attempt to lock up White this offseason.

Buffalo won 10 games and made the playoffs for just the second time since 2000 this year, losing to the Houston Texans in the Wild Card Round.
