The 2018 NFL Draft had its usual twists and turns. Among the notable storylines were the mistakes of quarterback Josh Allen coming back to haunt him.

Allen was projected by many to be the first quarterback off the board before a slew of his old posts on Twitter lowered his draft stock. However, the Buffalo Bills still went ahead and traded up to get him.

According to Matthew Fairburn of Syracuse.com, the Bills had grilled Allen about each one of the tweets brought into question:

Brandon Beane said he and the Bills printed out all of Josh Allen's questionable tweets and asked him to explain each one when they called him on draft day. Allen was very embarrassed but took ownership and explained each one.

Buffalo's tactics may be considered a bit extreme. However, when making this kind of investments there is no limit to what team's are willing to do to find out what they want to know. Just ask some of the other prospects that had undergone some serious lines of questioning throughout the draft process.

Fortunately for Allen, it appears as though he provided sufficient enough answers. As a result, Buffalo traded up five spots to take him with the seventh overall pick with the intent that he becomes their future franchise quarterback.

Scandalous headlines such as these have become somewhat of a common occurrence in recent years with social media. That said, Allen's draft process should serve as a cautionary tale to all future NFL prospects hoping to keep their stock as high as possible.
