The Buffalo Bills fielded one of the NFL's worst offenses in 2018, but have given the unit a boost heading into the new season. ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported Monday morning the team has signed former Jaguars running back T.J. Yeldon to a two-year contract.

The terms of the contract have not yet been made public.

Yeldon enters a roster that already includes LeSean McCoy and Chris Ivory, but the former has battled injuries in recent years, and Yeldon offers a better receiving threat than Ivory. In his career, Yeldon has amassed 1,872 rushing yards, with six touchdowns, on a four-yard per carry average. He has also caught 50 balls for 312 yards and a score on 68 targets.

After starting as a rookie, Yeldon has served mainly as a reserve running back for the Jaguars each of the past three seasons with the past two backing up Leonard Fournette.

The addition of Yeldon now gives Buffalo six running backs on their roster. Yeldon also visited with the New England Patriots.

In 2018, the Bills' offense ranked 30th in the NFL as a unit. It scored 16.8 points per game (30th) and converted on 31.6% of its third downs. The Bills finished 6-10 last season.

The Bills further showed they are committed to giving sophomore quarterback Josh Allen more weapons to improve his development. The team has already signed receivers John Brown and Cole Beasley, as well as offensive lineman Mitch Morse and veteran running back Frank Gore.
