Buffalo Bills defensive end Trent Murphy had some struggles in 2018 after coming back from a torn MCL and an ACL in his left knee, but the expectation is this year will be better and the Bills coaching staff has taken notice. Murphy has been healthy this off-season and one thing Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier sees is just how confident he is.

“I’ve told him a few different times as we’ve gone through some drills here in OTAs how different he looks,” Frazier said via the Buffalo News. “Of course, last year at this time he was coming off the injury and the surgery and really kind of feeling his way. The confidence, the movement, everything looks so much better. We’re hoping that continues as we get farther along, but he’s a different player.”

There were some around the Bills that though the team might move on from Murphy this off-season. Instead, they stayed pat, and hope that him being fully healthy will help his production. The Bills were quite active this off-season but one place they didn't try to improve was with the defensive ends.

Murphy is back along with Jerry Hughes and Shaq Lawson and the hope is that they all took steps forward this off-season and will be forces. The Bills had problems getting sacks last year but with a healthy Murphy, the hope is that he will get back to his old form, and help create havoc on opposing offensive lines and hit opposing quarterbacks early and often.
