The Buffalo Bills are making some roster moves ahead of their AFC East bout against the New York Jets on Sunday. Among the moves that the team made, veteran cornerback Josh Norman was placed on injured reserve, per the team's official site.

It's worth noting that while Norman was placed on injured reserve, he'll at least be out for the first three games of the season. As a result, he'll miss Sunday's contest versus the Jets, along with Buffalo's matchups with the Miami Dolphins and the Los Angeles Rams.

On Friday, it was reported that Norman would be unable to go for the Bills in Week 1 due to a hamstring injury. However, just a day later, it's now revealed that the veteran cornerback's injury may be a bit more serious than expected.

When Buffalo signed Norman this offseason, they were hoping to pair him with All-Pro Tre'Davious White at cornerback. With that in mind, Norman has faltered in recent seasons with the Washington Football Team. Despite his lackluster performance in Washington, the Bills believe Norman will be a marquee addition to their defense due to his familiarity with the system.

With Norman headed to injured reserve, Levi Wallace and Taron Johnson will see more playing time for Buffalo. Also, as a corresponding move, the Bills activated cornerback Cam Lewis and defensive tackle Justin Zimmer to the active roster.

There was plenty of criticism directed at Buffalo when they chose to ink Norman to a deal this offseason. Even though the team believes it made the right move, we won't see Norman on the field until Week 4 versus the Las Vegas Raiders — at the earliest.
