The Buffalo Bills signed Andre Roberts in an effort to shore up some much-needed depth in the receiving corps. It seems he has already made quite the impression on second-year quarterback Josh Allen.

Roberts has managed to turn heads at training camp heading into the preseason opener. According to Nick Wojton of Bills Wire, Allen shared some high praise for his playmaking ability:

“I didn’t really know much about Dre. Obviously he torched us a couple times last year when we played them and it wasn’t fun but to have that type of explosiveness on our special teams is awesome,” Allen said.

Allen, 23, added that he is glad to finally have Roberts in Buffalo.

“He comes out and he’s been developing as a wide receiver for us that’s completed some really crisp routes and he’s going to catch the ball and he has that explosiveness like we’ve seen in special teams,” Allen added.

There is certainly plenty of truth to Allen's comments. Roberts earned first-team All-Pro honors after finishing the 2018 campaign as the league's leader in kick return yards. Despite his prowess as a return specialist, it appears he could be looking to provide the Bills with some bang for their buck on offense as well.

The receiving corps is currently headed by Zay Jones and Cole Beasley. With Allen still developing under center, he can use all the help he can get from the weapons at his disposal. Roberts could potentially etch out an integral role for himself if he continues to impress through the preseason.
