The Buffalo Bills took a good amount of heat when they drafted quarterback Josh Allen out of Wyoming. And yet, fast-forward a couple years, and things are going well for the AFC franchise. That said, we've now hit the “Josh Allen is elite” stage of the program.

Yes. that's right!

Josh Allen Is Elite?

In a recent piece over at USA Today, the Bills gunslinger's name was put alongside the likes of Aaron Rodgers, Patrick Mahomes and Russell Wilson in the author's “elite” tier of guys.

From the piece:

Josh Allen received MVP consideration last season, and he should continue to ascend. Smart moves by Buffalo to re-sign three key offensive linemen and sign Emmanuel Sanders to further bolster an improved wide receiver group.

I'll admit I was dead wrong about him going out of college, but already placing the Bills gunslinger alongside the league's very best seems a bit… strong.

Operating under the assumption the author is — and it does assume that he is — projecting a bit more linear growth and development, it could make sense that he eventually ends up there. That being said, development is rarely linear. Just ask Lamar Jackson.

Nonetheless, the Bills are surely happy to have Josh Allen behind center. I'm not sure he's elite, but he's certainly very good.
