Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills will take on the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night.

As San Francisco prepares its game plan for Buffalo, 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh offered high praises for the Bills' breakout star quarterback. Saleh compared Allen to no less than former league MVP Cam Newton of the New England Patriots.

“He's like a young Cam Newton. Obviously, Cam can still throw and still do all that stuff, but he's a load to tackle,” Saleh said of the Bills QB on Friday. “They run him, I mean, it's basically like Wildcat offense. They're doing a lot of you just snap the ball, run power with him which is surprising. More guts than I would with a franchise quarterback, but he makes it work.”

Josh Allen and Cam Newton both stand at 6-foot-5, with relatively the same burly built. The 24-year-old Josh Allen has made significant strides this season that will likely earn him his first Pro-Bowl selection. He has also inserted himself into the MVP conversation, while leading Buffalo to an 8-3 mark.

Allen has allowed the Bills to go with different looks on their offense, and this is what Saleh and San Francisco expect to see on Monday. Through 11 games so far this season, the 2018 no. 7 overall pick stands at seventh in pass yards with 3,028, and his 311 rush yards ranks sixth among quarterbacks.
