The Buffalo Bills will not have Dawson Knox on the field for a few weeks. That's after the tight end, who's one of Josh Allen's favorite targets downfield this season, went under the knife on Tuesday to repair a fracture in his hand, according to reports of Mike Garofolo and Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network (h/t Chase Goodbread).

Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott later confirmed that Knox suffered a fracture in his hand, and the team does not currently have a timeline for his return to action.

Knox underwent successful surgery on the hand Tuesday, Garafolo and NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, with the goal of returning to the field as soon as possible. He should miss a few weeks.

Knox suffered the injury during Week 6's 34-31 road loss to the Tennessee Titans. The 24-year-old product of Ole Miss was not able to finish the game, but he did make a mark on that game by catching a 2-point conversion pass from Allen.

Knox has become a legitimate red-zone threat in the Bills' offense. He leads the team this season with five touchdowns to go with 21 receptions on 27 targets (fourth on the team). While Knox is out, Stefon Diggs, Emmanuel Sanders, and Cole Beasley will see a bit of an increase in their target shares, while Tommy Sweeney, who caught a TD pass in the Titans game could see more snaps and targets.
