The Buffalo Bills made a big splash in the early stages of free agency, swinging a deal with the Minnesota Vikings to acquire wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

Yes, the Bills had to part with a first-rounder and three other draft picks to pry Diggs away from the Vikings, but Diggs provides Buffalo with a much-needed vertical threat, and quarterback Josh Allen is thrilled to work with him:

“I'm still pumped about it,” Allen told Adam Schein of Mad Dog Sports Radio, via New York Upstate. “I'm still floating on cloud nine right now. I just can't wait to get to work with him. Obviously with all this stuff going around, travelling and trying to get in touch, start throwing with him, that's going to be a little delayed. I just want to get back to work.”

Diggs spent the first five years of his career in Minnesota. While he has yet to make a Pro Bowl, he is coming off of a pair of back-to-back 1,000-yard campaigns. This past year, Diggs hauled in 63 receptions for 1,130 yards and six touchdowns.

The Bills already had a couple of solid wide outs in John Brown and Cole Beasley, but Diggs will almost certainly become the club's No. 1 receiver heading into 2020.

Allen added that “the things he (Diggs) can do on a football field are unbelievable,” citing Diggs' route running and ability to catch passes in traffic as key attributes.

He also said he has spoken with Diggs over the phone a couple of times.

The Bills won 10 games this past season, making its second playoff appearance since 2000.
