The Buffalo Bills struck a deal to land wide receiver Stefon Diggs in a trade with the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night, resulting in quarterback Josh Allen taking to Twitter and perfectly summarizing the move:

Buffalo paid a hefty price to acquire Diggs, sending four draft picks—including a first-rounder—to the Vikings in exchange for the wide out, but for an offense that struggled for most of 2019, it was something that had to be done.

Diggs will join an improving Bills receiving corps that includes John Brown and Cole Beasley, both of whom had solid seasons this past year.

However, in spite of how well both Brown and Beasley performed, it was clear that the Bills were in need of a more elite weapon, and they seem to have found it in Diggs.

Diggs spent the first five years of his career in Minnesota and is coming off of a 2019 campaign in which he played 15 games and hauled in 63 receptions for 1,130 yards and six touchdowns, good for the most efficient season of his NFL tenure.

The 26-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Maryland, was originally selected by the Vikings in the fifth round (146th pick overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.

He had a solid rookie year, catching 52 passes for 720 yards and four scores. He then showed incremental improvement in 2016 and 2017 before breaking out in 2018, when he snared 102 balls for 1,021 yards while reaching the end zone nine times.

The Bills won 10 games and made just its second playoff appearance since 2000 this past season, losing to the Houston Texans in the Wild Card Round.
