Wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin has a fresh new start to his career heading into his first full season with the Buffalo Bills in his four years in the NFL.

This has given him the perspective to look back at his previous stop with the Carolina Panthers as he voiced that he believes he shouldn't have ever been drafted by the team back in the 2014 NFL Draft while taking a huge shot at former MVP quarterback Cam Newton, according to Tim Graham of The Athletic.

“I mean, I felt like I would’ve been even more successful if … I don’t know, man … If I would’ve … Looking back on it, I should’ve just been drafted by somebody else. I should’ve never went to Carolina. Truly, I just think Carolina was bad for me. It was a bad fit from the get-go. If you would’ve put me with any other quarterback, let’s be real, you know what I’m saying? Any other accurate quarterback like Rodgers or Eli Manning or Big Ben — anybody! — quarterbacks with knowledge, that know how to place a ball and give you a better chance to catch the ball. It just felt like I wasn’t in that position.”

It is clear that Benjamin didn't enjoy his time with the franchise by any means as there much disdain towards not being used properly in the passing game despite being the top receiving option. All of this seems to lie with the fact that Newton didn't put him in the right spots to succeed or maximize his talent on the field.

There weren't any rumblings about his unhappiness with the situation in any regard during his three-plus seasons with the Panthers, which may have led to them deciding to part ways with him prior to the trade deadline last year. This does bring a little more insight to his personal standing with the franchise that he felt wasn't using him properly.

That said, Benjamin has an opportunity in front of him to prove that what type of production he could put forth in the system that he believes will use his talents best.
