Buffalo Bills wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin was hoping for a big season heading into free agency this summer, but instead of having a nice season he has really struggled, and he thinks this has been rock bottom.

“It's just a bad season,” Benjamin said Monday as the Bills, with a 3-7 record, returned from their bye week via ESPN. “It is what it is. Just football, man. You have good seasons, you have bad seasons. I've had successful seasons in this league. I'll have plenty more. For some reason, it's just not the year.”

Benjamin has gotten a lot of heat from Bills fans, some who don't think he is giving 100 percent effort. Benjamin admits he has had to try to stay away from social media and that some of that criticism has made it not fun for him anymore.

“I can't really get on there and really have fun with it no more because they [have] kind of taken the fun out of that,” he said. “Just bombarded by the fans and bombarded by the people. The way of our life, I guess, right now.”

So far this season Benjamin only has 20 receptions for 302 yards and one touchdown. Although his play has been done, a lot of that might be contributed to the passing offense. They have gone through four different quarterbacks and passing as a whole hasn't been a strength for the Bills.

It will be interesting this offseason to see how much of a market that Benjamin has, but there is no question his production this season is probably going to hurt his stock.
