Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy has strongly denied the multiple serious allegations made against him on social media by a friend of his girlfriend.

“For the record, the totally baseless and offensive claims made against me today on social media are completely false,” McCoy said via Twitter. “Furthermore, I have not had any direct contact with any of the people involved in months.”

A friend of McCoy’s girlfriend, Delicia Cordon, made some stunning accusations against the Bills running back in an Instagram post. She claims McCoy brutally beat Cordon, which caused her gruesome facial injuries which were seen in the accompanying photo. She also accused McCoy of beating his dog and his own child, as well as using performance-enhancing drugs.

Obviously, it’s still way too early to make any conclusions as to which of the two is actually telling the truth. Nevertheless, the allegations against McCoy are serious enough to warrant an investigation, which the Bills are supposedly in the process of doing already.

Until that investigation provides more concrete evidence, it’s important not to jump into any conclusions with regard to McCoy. It’s certainly possible that he is telling the truth that the claims made against him are completely basis and that they were all made up by a disgruntled acquaintance.

The accusations levied against him are no doubt incredibly damaging to his public profile and deserve to be taken seriously. But until more verified information is available, he deserves the right to be innocent until proven guilty amid such serious allegations.
