Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy did not exactly have his finest hour in 2018, as he rushed for just 514 yards and three touchdowns while averaging a meager 3.2 yards per carry.

The Bills went out and signed Frank Gore this offseason to help complement McCoy in the backfield, as both players are wily veterans who have seen just about everything in their NFL careers.

And not only is Gore helping McCoy as far as providing him with a partner in the backfield, but he is also helping him with the mental aspect of the game, particularly after McCoy just had the worst season of his career:

“There’s always talk about something,” McCoy said, according to Chris Brown of the Bills' official team website. “Whether it’s off the field, on the field. Whether it’s age, my salary, there’s always something. So I learned to use that as motivation. That’s something that Frank has taught me. No matter what goes on they’ll look for the guy with the name or the money. So it motivates me in different ways.”

Plenty of people are wondering whether or not McCoy has anything left in the tank, which is a fair question to ask given how poorly he performed this past year, but obviously, the 31-year-old is using all of that external doubt as motivation heading into 2019.

McCoy, who arrived in Buffalo via trade with the Philadelphia Eagles back in 2015, had made five straight Pro Bowls prior to 2018.

Overall, McCoy has made six Pro Bowls while also earning one First-Team All-Pro selection.
