Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen did not have the greatest rookie campaign, but in the Bills' season-ending win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, Allen showed significant growth, completing 17 of his 26 passes for 224 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception.

After the game, Buffalo running back LeSean McCoy spoke highly of Allen, saying that the Bills are in good hands going forward, according to Matt Parrino of Syracuse.com:

“I think we all know what Josh can do. Put the right pieces around him, and it’s going to be dangerous,” McCoy said.

Allen reciprocated in kind, stating that he trusts McCoy for the future:

“That’s my boy right there, and we have a really good relationship,” Allen said. “I’m not going to speculate on what’s going on or how we’re going to perform next season, but I have a lot of trust in him and coach has a lot of trust in him. This team’s got a lot of trust in him, and he’s got a lot of good football left in him.”

Allen, who played his collegiate football at the University of Wyoming, was selected by the Bills with the seventh overall pick of the NFL Draft back in the spring.

Known for his 6-foot-5 frame and his rocket arm, Buffalo drafted Allen more based on potential than collegiate production.

Overall this season, the 22-year-old played in 12 games and made 11 starts, throwing for 2,074 yards, 10 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions while completing 52.8 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 67.9.

The Bills ended the year with a record of 6-10.
