Mitchell Trubisky's time with the Chicago Bears didn't pan out the way he expected, but it looks like he is ready to bounce back with the Buffalo Bills. In fact, he showed just that to his former team on Saturday in their preseason game at Soldier Field.

Trubisky led the Bills to a 41-15 dismantling of Justin Fields and the Bears, completing 20 of his 28 passes for 221 yards and one touchdown. In comparison, Andy Dalton and Fields struggled against Chicago's defense, with both players combining for 226 yards on 20 completed passes as well.

When asked about his performance against the Bears–which is seemingly like a revenge game of sorts–Trubisky noted that he was just focused on trying to play good for the team.

“I just wanted to play well,” Trubisky said after the Bills' win, per The Telegraph. “I knew people would be talking about it and hyping it up, but it was just important for me to come out here and do my job and show my teammates that I could play ball.”

The Bears moved on from Mitchell Trubisky in the offseason after they signed Andy Dalton and showed their commitment to Justin Fields. There are no ill feelings between the two parties, it's just that the partnership didn't work as they wished.

With that said, it's not surprising to hear a mix of applause and boos when Trubisky took the field for the Bills in his former home. However, the 27-year-old chose to focus on the positive.

“It was very welcoming, and I’m very grateful for that. I love the people of Chicago. The fans are as passionate as anybody out there. … I’m grateful for my journey and where I’m at and just how the guys supported me today and how we played in the first half. I’m just super proud of that,” Trubisky said.

Trubisky can certainly celebrate his performance on Saturday against the Bears. Nonetheless, he knows very well he needs to stay consistent with the Bills to have more playing time. He's off to a great start, though.
