The Buffalo Bills brought in two quarterbacks in AJ McCarron and Josh Allen this offseason, and it appeared that Nathan Peterman might be fighting to make the 53 man roster. But that might not be the case, and according to Mike Rodak of ESPN, Peterman has a real chance to not only make the roster but win the starting quarterback job.

The 2017 fifth-round pick was an afterthought at best and a laughingstock at worst after his five-interception performance against the Chargers last season, but Peterman should be considered a serious contender for the starting job in Buffalo. He has rotated daily with AJ McCarron to lead the first-team offense, with rookie Josh Allen starting in minicamp to see periodic time with that group.

Peterman got one surprise start last year for the Bills, and it didn't go anywhere near as planned. He threw five interceptions in the first half before being pulled at halftime.

He wasn't really thrown in under good circumstances, and it was more like he was getting thrown to the wolves. Even after that game, the Bills said they weren't going to give up on him, and that appears to be the case.

Anything can happen in training camp, but with the Bills giving him a chance, and placing him ahead of Allen on the depth chart really says a lot.

The Bills had said they are going to take it really slow with Allen, but a guy that threw five interceptions in the first half of a game, behind ahead of your first round draft pick is concerning. McCarron still seems like the favorite to win the job, but anything can happen.
