Buffalo Bills fans received some unexpected news today. It appears that their team is going to be in need of a new left guard this season. Yes, Richie Incognito has announced he is retiring from the NFL after 12 seasons.

Shortly after rumors that Incognito was thinking about calling it a career surfaced, Vic Carucci of the Buffalo News confirmed that the rumors were true.

While he will forever be known as one of the bullies from the Jonathan Martin bullying scandal, he was a pretty good offensive lineman for much of his career.

Is he Hall of Fame worthy? That will be up to the voters to decide, but the consensus on social media is “No” (but with a certain expletive in front of the ‘no’).

Buffalo’s offense relies on the running game, so his presence will undoubtedly be missed. The chances are good that the Bills front office is now giving every offensive lineman in the draft a hard look. With a new quarterback behind center next year, they’ll need their run game to be as dominant as ever.

Bills running back LeSean McCoy knows this, and he knows how important Incognito was to the team last season. In an effort to get him to come back he made this offer via Instagram:

“Wait wait NOO!! Wood and you … listen 1500 yards I’ll give u 300k CASH,” McCoy wrote. “my favorite WHITE BOY EVER CANT retire lol… love u dog”

But Incognito said he is not going to change his mind.
