Since the Buffalo Bills decided to move up in the first round of this year's draft to take former Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen, the focus has been on when he'll make his regular season debut for the franchise.

It appears that he will start at the bottom of the depth chart, working with the third team in OTAs while offseason addition AJ McCarron and second-year quarterback Nathan Peterman are currently splitting snaps with the first team, according to Vic Carucci of BNBlitz.com.

There doesn't appear to be any rush on the Bills ‘behalf to throw him in with the first team, as the coaching staff will likely give McCarron the first shot to be the starter to begin the 2018 season. He signed with Buffalo in free agency with the hope that he would have a chance to prove that he can be a viable starting quarterback in the league.

Meanwhile, Peterman is coming off a lackluster rookie campaign where he struggled in the limited time that he did get on the field. This could be a chance for him to prove that he has made some much-needed adjustments

As a result, there is no pressure on Allen as he gets  acquiesced to playing at the next level. There is no timetable for him taking the field in game-action, but that should come in the preseason as he gets a chance to gain experience prior to the start of the 2018 campaign. It is still quite early in the entire process, but it is clear that the Bills are in no rush to throw their prized first-round pick in the fire to begin his rookie year.
