Hall-of-Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens played for five different teams throughout his NFL career, and one of his last stops was with the Buffalo Bills in 2009.

Owens spent just one season in Buffalo, and while he was clearly past his prime at that juncture, he remained productive, logging 55 catches for 829 yards and five touchdowns.

Now, Owens is saying he wished he would have stayed with the Bills longer in order to continue catching passes from Ryan Fitzpatrick:

“Honestly, I wish I could have played another year or two (in Buffalo),” the former Bills star said, according to Matthew Fairburn of The Athletic. “If you look at my stats, they weren’t particularly good in the beginning of the season, but once I got with Ryan Fitzpatrick it was like ‘Fitz Magic.'”

Fitzpatrick has been a journeyman for the entirety of his NFL tenure, and while he is primarily a backup, he has had some impressive moments as a starter. Apparently, Owens really liked playing with him while the two were with the Bills:

“I’ve spoken very highly of Ryan,” added Terrell Owens. “People ask me who is your favorite quarterback and people think I’m saying it was a joke but I’m like, ‘Yo, Ryan is one of the better quarterbacks that I played with.’ I say that honestly because of how smart he is. Maybe it has something to do with that Harvard education.”

I never thought I would see the day that a wide out named Ryan Fitzpatrick as one of the best quarterbacks they have played with, but hey; good for Ryan.

Owens spent 15 years in the NFL overall, making six Pro Bowl appearances and establishing himself as one of the greatest receivers of his era.
