The Buffalo Bills made a splash move at the beginning of free agency, trading a bevy of draft picks for Stefon Diggs. Even though the trade was received well by fans, an NFL executive believes Buffalo gave up too many picks to acquire Diggs:

“I wouldn’t have done it for one first-round pick, let alone all those other picks,” an exec said via The Athletic. “Diggs seems happy now, but he is going to play with the most inaccurate quarterback he has ever had (Josh Allen), and even if you are the No. 1 receiver there, they are not going to change who they are. Is anyone shocked if Diggs wants a new deal or a trade within a year?”

Altogether, the Bills surrendered a first-round pick, a fifth-round pick, a sixth-round pick, and a fourth-round pick in next year's draft. For comparison, the Arizona Cardinals only traded David Johnson, a second-round pick, and a fourth-round pick in exchange for DeAndre Hopkins and a fourth-rounder.

During the 2019 campaign, it was evident that Diggs was becoming irritated with his role with the Minnesota Vikings. Therefore, it was just a matter of time before Diggs was traded by the Vikings.

Despite the Hopkins move being a peculiar trade, the Bills gave up quite the package to land Diggs. With that being said, there's no doubt that Buffalo is getting a talented player.

But will he be content with Josh Allen as his quarterback? In his first two seasons in the NFL, Allen has completed just 56.3 percent of his passes.

While the Vikings received a ransom for Diggs, the Bills were content parting ways with valuable draft picks. Only time will tell if Buffalo made a mistake trading for the big-play wideout.
