Andre Roberson was the starting shooting guard for the Oklahoma City Thunder last season, but Billy Donavan is hinting that Terrance Ferguson is the frontrunner for the job right now. Roberson went down with a left knee injury about halfway through the 2017-18 season. While he was making tremendous strides towards recovery, a setback will bench him for another two months. Ferguson's consistency sets him apart from his competition.

“He’s been kind of the one constant in terms of who’s been out there and being healthy and being able to go through everything,” Donovan told The Oklahoman. “… so he’s earned the right to go out there and play and start in these games just based on what he’s done so far in training camp.”

The Thunder selected Terrance Ferguson with the No. 21 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. Instead of playing a year of college ball, Ferguson took his talents overseas. He played one season for the Adelaide 36ers, an Australian team. While he was there, he performed well enough to keep NBA scouts interested.

Ferguson is 6-foot-7, giving him great length for the shooting guards position. While he's not as good of a defender as Roberson, he's easily more of an offensive threat. Roberson averaged five points while playing nearly 27 minutes a night. Meanwhile, Ferguson averaged three in less than 13 minutes a game. His 38-inch vertical makes him dangerous when he attacks the rim.

Billy Donovan will continue to evaluate his talent, as he has a couple new guards on his team this season. Right now, Ferguson is in a great spot.
