The Portland Trail Blazers have made some really good moves this offseason. They acquired Robert Covington from the Rockets, a 3-and-D wing who they've desperately needed since Wes Matthews and Nic Batum jumped ship.

The Blazers also took some swings on younger players like Derrick Jones Jr. and Harry Giles to go along with Zach Collins, Anfernee Simons, Nassir Little, and Gary Trent Jr. Maybe most importantly, Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum, and Jusuf Nurkic all appear to be healthy heading into the season.

The Blazers are expected to be a great team next season, but some fans may be getting ahead of themselves.

On the daily Locked On Blazers Podcast, host Mike Richman answered listener questions including one Blazers fan who wonders if Portland could be the second-best team in the West next season.

Mike Richman: I don't think you're crazy to think they are the second best team in the West, I think you're wrong. I think the Clippers are going to be right up there, again. I think the Lakers got better. I think the Blazers have a very good chance to finish top three in the West. The last time they had a roster this deep, they finished third in the West. I think they could be back there again, the West is probably more competitive than it was in the 2018-19 season just in terms of teams at the top. So I don't think it's crazy to think that the Blazers could be the second-best team in the West, I don't believe that I think they're going to finish there. I'll say they finish fourth, I say homecourt advantage, but fourth. However, if they do end up better in the regular season and finish second or third, it wouldn't surprise me.
