Portland Trail Blazers veteran small forward Carmelo Anthony continues to give back to his community.

On Wednesday, Anthony gave a single mother in the Baltimore area a new car. The Blazers star gifted Shalita Addison a 2017 Mazda CX3:

“We partnered up and gave a car for the Holidays,” Carmelo Anthony said, via NBC Northwest. “We surprised a family who really needed it, and we made somebody’s holiday. We made a family happy, made some wishes come true. It’s a great feeling when you can do something like that and help a family out. It always put things in perspective when you see the impact that has on people.”

Anthony has a long history of being active in the community well before his time with the Blazers. It's why he's one of the most popular players in the NBA. These types of stories are always great to hear since it shows the good work which NBA players do here and there.

In 24 games with the Blazers, Anthony is averaging 16.1 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists. He's shooting 43.1 percent from the field, 39.8 percent from beyond the arc and 81.7 percent from the free-throw line.

The Blazers are 10-14 with Anthony in the lineup and 16-23 overall on the season. They are in the 10th spot in the Western Conference standings.
