Portland Trail Blazers forward Carmelo Anthony has shown yet again why several teams were silly to never bet on him.

On Wednesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Anthony turned back the clock and scored from a turnaround jumper right in the face of Dean Wade.

Prior to Wednesday's game, Carmelo Anthony was averaging 13.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest this season. He has been a key contributor to the Blazers, as they aim to avoid the play-in tournament in the competitive Western Conference.

Anthony, who was signed last season by the Blazers, proved in 2019-20 why he was worth the shot after coming up big for them both in the seeding games and playoffs.

The Blazers lead the Cavaliers 67-57 entering the half on Wednesday. They have an important couple of games in the next few days. For them to avoid the play-in tournament once again, they must win versus the Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, Utah Jazz, Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets.

Anthony will play a huge role once again for his team in these next couple of games. He constantly provides bench scoring, spacing and that veteran IQ that not a lot of players on the court possess. He has shown flashes of his old self from time to time, and it has been great for basketball fans to reminisce.

In last season’s seeding game versus the Memphis Grizzlies, Anthony came up big during clutch time. He scored several late baskets that once again proved why he deserves to be in the NBA. It’s good to see Anthony succeed in the league that he always belonged in.
