Portland Trail Blazers guards Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum are first and second, respectively, in minutes per game this season.

Lillard is averaging 38.6 minutes per game and McCollum is playing 37.7. In the load management era, some would say that's too many minutes for the Blazers' two best players.

However, McCollum believes he and Lillard can sustain this minutes load for the entire season.

“Absolutely,” McCollum said, via Dwight Jaynes of NBC Sports Bay Area. “We take great care of our bodies. We know how to get our rest. It’s a long season but we don’t really have a lot of room for error right now. What’s our record? We have to take care of our bodies, be in shape and sustain a certain accountability to play. It’s a part of the game.

“This is what I do. I play basketball. My job is to be available. Obviously, we all battle little injuries here and there but it’s your job to take care of it and if you’re able to play, you play. That’s how I was trained.”

The Blazers are 4-6 on the young season. Lillard is averaging 33.0 points per game, while McCollum is putting up 19.8.

As is the case every season, the Blazers will go as far as Lillard and McCollum can take them. It looks like the two scoring guards are in for a long season minutes wise.
