Portland Trail Blazers star CJ McCollum has been an influential presence on the social media scene this summer, and the 26-year-old combo guard is not planning to stop anytime soon. McCollum is a fan of the NFL's Cleveland Browns and predicts that the team will win over 5.5 games:

An NFL team winning over five games is not a rare and special feat. But considering what the Browns went through last year, five wins would be a long shot.

Colin J. Liotta of Touchdown Wire wrote on the Browns' disastrous 2017 season that made its way into the NFL history books:

The Browns earned the unglamorous distinction of being one of only two teams in NFL history to go 0-16 in a regular season (the 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a winless season of their own, but went 0-14).

Despite their lowly 2017 record, the Browns have been gathering more hype and traction coming into the 2018 season. ESPN's David Purdrum revealed this about their status in Vegas:

At MGM sportsbooks, the Browns have attracted more bets to win the Super Bowl than the Atlanta FalconsKansas City Chiefs and Jacksonville Jaguars, who were playoff teams last season. Cleveland is listed at 60-1 to win the Super Bowl at MGM.

Still, a sportsbook manager at Caesars Palace attests to this phenomenon:

“There are more bets on the Browns to win AFC North than the other three teams combined. Only the Raiders and Steelers have more bets to win the AFC. The public likes the Browns, and I'm not sure why.”

McCollum and the public's inclination towards the Browns is a classic example of loving the underdog. Hopefully, the team doesn't get too much pressure from this as they try to build up from their record-breaking terrible season.
