Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard CJ McCollum says his backcourt mate Damian Lillard and Oklahoma City Thunder star Russell Westbrook are “two pit bulls” who love to compete for 48 minutes.

Lillard and Westbrook have been going at it in the first two games of their first round series. Lillard has gotten the better of Westbrook so far. The Blazers are up 2-0 in the series and Lillard is averaging 29.5 points.

Westbrook, meanwhile, is struggling with his shot and defending Lillard. The former MVP is putting up 19.0 points while shooting just 35.1 percent from the field. The two All-Stars aren't the best of friends and have no problem getting in the grill of each other.

McCollum, who is averaging 28.5 points through the first two games for the Blazers, says that's how it's supposed to be in the playoffs.

“Two pit bulls,” McCollum said, via Brett Dawson of The Athletic. “You got two competitive guys who play hard and are well known, All-Stars, faces of their franchises. And the stakes are high. If you’re a competitor you look forward to these moments and these opportunities to not only put yourself on the map, but put your team on the map.”

Game 3 of this series is on Friday. The Blazers will look to take a commanding 3-0 series lead, while the Thunder will be desperate to get back in the series by protecting home-court.
