Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard CJ McCollum is hopeful that he will be able to play on Sunday against the Indiana Pacers.

After missing three games in a row because of an ankle injury, McCollum practiced on Saturday:

The Blazers are 19-27 on the season. They are in 11th place in the Western Conference standings.

McCollum has appeared in 42 games for the Blazers this season. He’s averaging 21.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists while shooting 45.3 percent from the field, 37.8 percent from beyond the arc and 78.9 percent from the free-throw line.

After making it to the Western Conference Finals last season, the Blazers have been very inconsistent this season. The addition of future Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony has given Portland a boost, but they are still struggling to string wins together and climb up the West standings.

Portland acquired veteran small forward Trevor Ariza from the Sacramento Kings. The franchise is hoping he can be the final piece for the team to get on track.

As is the case every season, the Blazers will ultimately go as far as CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard can take them. There are some around the league who believe Portland should break up the roster and rebuild. However, the Blazers are waiting to see how they look once injured center Jusuf Nurkic is healthy and returns to the lineup.
