The New England Patriots released Antonio Brown on Friday, which means Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard CJ McCollum is most likely going to start Julian Edelman in his fantasy lineup this week:

CJ McCollum is a huge Cleveland Browns fan, but he loves to play fantasy football as well. The Blazers guard is making the right move by starting Julian Edelman, as his targets are going to go up now that Antonio Brown is gone.

The Brown situation is one of the most bizarre stories in recent sports history. Brown's fantasy owners are probably really upset right now, although it wouldn't be that much of a surprise to see another team take a chance on him since he's so talented, even with all his legal issues.

McCollum and the Blazers open up their training camp soon. Until then, the Blazers guard will enjoy his fantasy football life. Portland figures to have another good season in 2019-20 with McCollum and star Damian Lillard leading the charge. The Blazers don't have to worry about having an Antonio Brown saga on their team.

Last season, McCollum averaged 21.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists while shooting 45.9 percent from the field, 37.5 percent from beyond the arc and 82.8 percent from the free-throw line. He signed a three-year, $100 million extension this summer.
