The Portland Trail Blazers and Damian Lillard have a bit of complicated history together. With Dame Time in tow, the team enjoyed great regular season success. However, despite the obvious skills of these teams, they were never quite able to make it over the hump.
This failure to launch into championship greatness is one of the biggest knocks on Lillard's career. Unlike his fellow contemporaries, many fans feel that the Blazers star hasn't quite reached the same level as the others. One of these fans let Lillard know on Twitter what he felt. The star would then respond with a rather hilarious jab at himself.

To be fair to Lillard, he's pretty accomplished in his own right. He's often overshadowed by guys like Stephen Curry and Russell Westbrook. However, the Blazers star is one of the best point guards of this generation. His ability to shoot from deep and lead a team is incredible on it's own.
However, the Blazers under Lillard have always fallen flat on their faces come playoff time. Most of it isn't due to Lillard, though: the star has had numerous incredible playoff moments over the years. His supporting cast, however, has been rather lackluster.
Who knows, though? Maybe next season, Lillard and the Blazers will finally break through and find a second gear to their success. Despite Dame's injury, the team showed signs of progress under Chauncey Billups. Perhaps a new and rejuvenated Lillard will be able to carry his team to the promised land again.
