Damian Lillard just put on the moves to upset the top-seeded Los Angeles Lakers on Game 1 of their best-of-seven series. The Bubble MVP took over once again in the fourth quarter with a series of clutch plays which was highlighted by another one of his patented long-distance threes.
And after hitting a 36-footer to put the Blazers on top by three in the crucial stretch of the fourth quarter, Lillard put on some sweet moves on his way back to defense. And per the All-Star, the soundtrack playing inside the arena kept him going.
“They played an East Oakland anthem.” Lillard said post-game (per SportsCenter). “It was only right that I acknowledge the East Oakland anthem and go dumb for a second. And that was it.”
We've always known Damian Lillard to be one of the coolest customers in the league but to pull out some dance moves in a crucial part of a series opener after making a clutch bucket is a whole different level of cool for five-time All Star. Something Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma even agreed to when asked about Lillard's strut after the game.
Lillard had himself quite a night to further prove doubters wrong as the Blazers gain a crucial 1-0 advantage against the Lakers Tuesday night. The Blazers guard ended with a game-high 34 to go with five rebounds and five assists. Dame also knocked down six of his thirteen attempts from deep but his last one from the logo was a game-changer.
Make no doubt about it – Dame D.O.L.L.A. is in the building.
