Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard won't shy away from putting himself and his backcourt mate C.J. McCollum as two of the best in the business, as two perennial 20-point scorers that have given the league nightmares throughout this season, being the first two individuals to come on the opponent's scouting report.

“I think we as good as any backcourt,” said Lillard assertively, according to ESPN's Chris Haynes. “We get to the playoffs every year. We haven't had the playoff success that we wanna have. And that's what we're working toward. But we get the job done when it come to winning games. There's a lot of people in the league that they're not in the playoffs consistently.”

“I think we find a way to get that done every year. And whenever we matched up against whoever, we out there bangin'. We going at everybody. And we standing up to every matchup. So I think like he said, nobody gonna look back and be like, “Oh, they averaged the most points during this time.” It's gonna come down to, like, wins and your team's success. But I think if that's a discussion, we as good as any backcourt.”

The Blazers have been one of the biggest surprises of the second half of the season, being the only team yet to lose a game since after the All-Star break, railing 13 wins in a row since a marquee Valentine's Day win over the defending champion Golden State Warriors that propelled this roster to great heights.

Lillard has been on a tear since the start of February, as has McCollum, as both players have reached the 50-point mark once this season and combined for an average of 48.4 points of offense every night.
