Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard clapped back at an NBA fan suggesting he should be drug tested for saying his team could defeat the Los Angeles Lakers in the playoffs.

Lillard refuted the idea with a rather sarcastic response, saying he should have simply said the Blazers “don't have a chance” in the event they play the Lakers.

The All-Star point guard previously stated that the Blazers could pull off an upset against the Lakers should they be able to grab the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference.

Portland played the Lakers three times during the regular season prior to the suspension of play, going 1-2 in those contests.

Of course, it remains to be seen just how much the hiatus has impacted the 22 teams heading to Orlando for the resumption of play. Plus, the Blazers have some work to do if they want a shot at the Purple and Gold.

Portland currently trails the Memphis Grizzlies by 3.5 games for the eighth seed, with eight games to make up the difference. The Blazers might also be able to grab the last playoff spot even if they finish in the ninth spot, though that would require winning two consecutive games as part of a play-in tournament.

Then again, there is also the question of whether the NBA will in fact return at all. Numerous players have voiced concerns about a return to the hardwood in the last few days, citing the pandemic and the wave of social activism spreading throughout the country.

Regardless, Damian Lillard is up for the challenge of facing the Lakers, if he gets the chance.
