At 29 years old, Damian Lillard's career is far from over, yet the Portland Trail Blazers' star point guard has already recorded multiple unforgettable moments.

None of these moments, however, compare to two playoff series-ending triples at the buzzer.

Most recently, Lillard waved goodbye to the Russell Westbrook era as he drained a deep 3-pointer with All-Defensive stud Paul George guarding him. Portland advanced over the Oklahoma City Thunder in April earlier this year in Game 5 of the first round. Following this, the Thunder traded George and Westbrook, rebuilding a new generation for general manager Sam Presti's team.

Before the crushing blow Lillard delivered to OKC, though, the Blazers guard sunk another 3-pointer to win a first-round playoff series against James Harden and the Houston Rockets in 2014. According to Lillard, the iconic out-of-bounds play leading to this shot was unscripted:

“The play wasn't even for me,” Lillard told House of Highlights. “The play was to throw a lob to LaMarcus [Aldridge].”

Damian Lillard signed a contract extension with the Blazers in the offseason, inking a four-year extension worth nearly $200 million. Portland is bent on keeping its star floor general, who has demonstrated the sort of backbone needed to lead the franchise indefinitely.

Portland also doubled down on its title-contention window, trading Maurice Harkless and Meyers Leonard in the four-team Jimmy Butler sign-and-trade and getting back center Hassan Whiteside. The former blocks champion with the Miami Heat will likely start at the 5 for the Blazers while Jusuf Nurkic recovers from the leg fracture he suffered in March.
