Fans of Philadelphia 76ers serenaded Damian Lillard on Monday night as the Portland Trail Blazers came to town. Early in the game, the Sixers home crowd began chanting “We want Lillard” as the Blazers star headed to the free-throw line to shoot a pair. Dame did not pay any attention to the cheers, but as it turns out, he actually took it all in.

After the game, Lillard had nothing but love for Philly as he was asked to react to the home crowd's blatant recruitment tactics (h/t Chris Mannix of The Athletic):

“City of Brotherly Love, they showed a brother some love,” Lillard said, via ESPN. “I know what it is and what it’s about. I appreciate the love, I appreciate the respect they showed, the desire or whatever.”

Sixers fans better not get too excited, though. Lillard is as loyal as they come and he's already proven his unwavering loyalty to the Blazers time and again. Dame has indeed been linked to Philly as part of a potential blockbuster trade involving want-away star Ben Simmons, but in reality, we all know this is not going to happen. Lillard himself reiterated in the postgame presser that he's a Blazer through and through.

The good news for the Sixers, however, is that they came out on top against Lillard and Co. on Monday night, 113-103. Philadelphia put in a total team effort in the win, with no less than seven players scoring double digits. Seth Curry got hot in this one, going 10-of-17 from the floor for a game-high 23 points.
