It's usually Damian Lillard dishing out the dimes for the Portland Trail Blazers, but this time around, Jusuf Nurkic has turned the tables. The 6-foot-11 big man just came out with a huge assist for Lillard by boldly campaigning for his teammate's MVP bid this season.

According to Nurk, there's no doubt in his mind that Lillard is currently the league's Most Valuable Player:

Nurkic, who is currently still rehabbing a broken wrist, is making his presence known for the Blazers despite the fact that he's been out of action for a significant amount of time. He may be unable to take the court, but Nurkic is making sure that he's still able to help his team by filling in as the president/PR guy for the Damian Lillard fan club.

It's hard to argue against Nurkic here once you look at Dame's numbers, though: 29.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, 7.4 assists, and 1.1 steals, while also connecting on 4.0 triples per game on a 38.0-percent clip. Those are some pretty good numbers — definitely good enough for Lillard to be in contention for the MVP award at this point in the season.

More importantly, Lillard's heroics have translated to wins for the Blazers. Right now, they possess a 17-10 record which is good for the fourth spot in a ruthless Western Conference. Heading into Wednesday's matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans, Portland is currently on a five-game winning streak. They've also lost just two out of their nine games in February.
