Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard has not looked like his All-NBA self in the Western Conference Finals against the Golden State Warriors. Lillard's poor performance in the series so far is just one reason why the Blazers are in an 0-3 hole and on the brink of elimination.

The four-time All-Star is aware of his struggles, but knows he has to get rolling for Portland to have any shot of winning, per Tim MacMahon of ESPN:

“I think what they want me to do is make the correct play, and for me, I try to do that for as long as possible,” Lillard said, per . “You know, as long as I can do it, and we can stay in the game or have a lead like we have the last two games, when I'm just making the right plays, and guys are doing what they're supposed to do on the weak side.

“But I think in Golden State's minds, they know at some point, if we're going to beat them, I'm going to have to be rolling.”

The Warriors have sent multiple bodies at Lillard and have been blitzing and double-teaming him in their pick-and-roll coverages. Their defensive scheme has forced the All-NBA guard to give up the ball early in their possessions, which has been successful in taking Lillard out of his rhythm.

Lillard shot just 5-of-18 from the field in Game 3 en route to 19 points. He is averaging 20.3 points per game while shooting at a 32.6 percent clip in this series, which is a far cry from his season averages of 25.8 points per game on 44.4 percent shooting.

Of course, Lillard's rib injury isn't helping him. Going against an elite Warriors defense and dealing with a painful injury is looking like too much to handle.
