Damian Lillard has been ruthless for the Portland Trail Blazers. While the Blazers did fall short to the Utah Jazz, his incredible 40-point scoring performance once again shows just how different he is to the rest of the league. This puts him on par with one of the greatest players to ever don a Blazers jersey.

ESPN Stats & Info revealed that this is his seventh 40-point game this season. Not only does it make him the third-most to achieve the feat, but he ties the record made by Clyde Drexler during the days he stomped leagues in a Portland jersey.

This feat only reinforces what many Blazers fans already know: Lillard is probably going to end up as the greatest Blazer of all time. He's proving with the incredible run he's putting up that there won't likely be another man who can match up what he can do on the court.

Of course, his 40-point outbursts aren't really borne out of a dream of chasing records. The Blazers have struggled to win games throughout the season, and Dame Time has been uused a lot more often in order to address the lack of scoring.

However, SB Nation's Zito Madu noted that there's one more thing that makes Lillard a very difficult opponent for the Jazz and the rest of the league:

What makes Lillard, as he is now, so dangerous, is he is self-assured. He knows exactly how good he is; the outside noise no longer matters. Rather than get riled up by taunts, all he has to do now is remind opponents what he has done to them before, and that he can do it again.

Lillard is averaging 29.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 8.0 assists a night. Expect these numbers to balloon a bit more as Lillard isn't intent on stopping any time soon.
