Damian Lillard became just the second player in the history of the Portland Trail Blazers franchise to open a season with consecutive 30-point games after he hung 35 on the Sacramento Kings on Friday night:

Lillard also scored 32 points against the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night.

“Logo Dame” is proving to be one of the most prolific scoring guards in the history of the game. He averaged close to 26 points per game last season, and has averaged at least 25 points per contest for the last four years.

Lillard has capitalized on his success. Although he has been regarded as a star since winning the Rookie of the Year Award in 2013, he is now earning recognition as one of the best players in the game. Lillard almost single-handedly powered the Trail Blazers past the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of last year's playoffs, helping Portland reach the Conference Finals for the first time since 2000.

As a result, the Trail Blazers rewarded Lillard with a supermax contract extension of four years and $191 million, keeping him in town for the next six years.

While fellow stars such as Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, LeBron James and Anthony Davis all expressed a desire to team up, Lillard has never been one for recruiting. However, he also acknowledges that recruitment has given more power to the players.

Lillard still believes that the Trail Blazers are one of the best teams in the West, and he and C.J. McCollum currently form one of the best backcourts in the league.
