Damian Lillard won't play against the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 5 due to a right knee sprain. The Portland Trail Blazers star suffered the injury in Game 4.

Without Lillard, the Blazers will likely lose Game 5 and watch their 2019-20 season end.

The Blazers are down 3-1 to the Lakers, who have won three straight after losing Game 1. While Portland will play hard in Game 5 without Lillard, the odds of them winning are very low.

Lillard is averaging 24.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists against the Lakers. He's shooting 40.6 percent from the field, 39.4 percent from beyond the arc and 97.0 percent from the free-throw line. Los Angeles has done a good job on Lillard in Games 2, 3 and 4.

If Lillard's 2019-20 season is over, then what a magical run it was. He finished the regular season with averages of 30.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 8.0 assists. Then, Lillard went off during the seeding games by winning MVP and willing the Blazers to the playoffs.

If this is how Lillard's season ends, it's unfortunate since he's been giving it his all at Disney World and putting the Blazers on his back. Unfortunately, injuries are part of sports.
