The Portland Trail Blazers open up the second half of the season on Thursday against the Brooklyn Nets, and they might be without their best player, All-Star point guard Damian Lillard.

The Blazers announced Wednesday that Lillard is dealing with a left ankle sprain, leaving him questionable to face Brooklyn. Dame played 25 minutes in the All-Star Game this past Sunday and finished with 18 points, six rebounds and five assists. It's unclear when the ankle injury occurred.

The Blazers are 34-23 on the season, good for fourth place in the Western Conference standings.

On the season, Damian Lillard is averaging 26.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game while shooting 45.0 percent from the field, 37.3 percent from beyond the arc and 90.7 percent from the free-throw line.

Lillard has seven double-doubles on the season. The Blazers are 33-23 when he's in the lineup.

If Lillard can't play against the Nets, Portland will likely start Seth Curry at the point guard position and make star shooting guard CJ McCollum the primary option on offense. The Blazers will also have the services of big man Enes Kanter for the first time. Kanter was waived by the New York Knicks last week and signed a free-agent deal with Portland.
