Portland Trail Blazers superstar point guard Damian Lillard is third among Western Conference guards in All-Star voting.

Lillard only trails Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic and Houston Rockets MVP James Harden. The Blazers' best player admits “it feels good” to be that high in the first round of the All-Star votes:

“I’m third? I don’t think I’ve ever been that high. It feels good,” Lillard said, via Blazers.com. “It’s one of those things where you’ve got to wait your turn. I think when your body of work builds up or adds up and you earn your respect. And people see that you didn’t have one or two or three good seasons, it’s been every year of improvement and being consistent.”

Lillard is a four-time All-Star. He's been snubbed a few years in the past, but that won't happen anymore since Dame is universally recognized as one of the best players in the NBA.

In 33 games this season for the Blazers, Lillard is averaging 26.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 7.6 assists. The 29-year-old Oakland native is shooting 43.8 percent from the field, 35.2 percent from beyond the arc and 88.7 percent from the free-throw line.

The Blazers are coming off a bad loss to the New York Knicks on Wednesday at Madison Square Garden. After making it to the Western Conference Finals last season, the Blazers have struggled this season. Portland is just 14-21. They are in the ninth spot in the Western Conference standings.

The Blazers need to get their act together quick since the West is so rugged.
