Portland Trail Blazers star point guard Damian Lillard denies a report which claims he and late owner Paul Allen had a verbal agreement that if he felt unhappy with the Trail Blazers or the direction of the franchise, Allen and the organization would help Lillard out and facilitate a trade.

Damian Lillard didn't elaborate much on the report after practice on Monday, saying that the rumor was false.

Over the summer, Damian Lillard also refuted a report which claimed he’s unhappy with the franchise and wants to be traded. The Trail Blazers were swept by the New Orleans Pelicans in the first-round of the 2018 playoffs and it was a struggle for Lillard, causing many to surmise the 28-year-old was looking to leave Portland. Lillard has been linked to the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks.

Damian Lillard signed a five-year extension with the Trail Blazers in 2015 and can’t become a free agent until 2021. The three-time All-Star has said multiple times he wants to spend his entire career in Portland. Entering Monday, the Trail Blazers have the best record in the Western Conference at 11-5.

In 16 games this season, Lillard is averaging 26.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 6.1 assists while shooting 44.1 percent from the field, 35.0 percent from beyond the arc and 92.4 percent from the free-throw line. The seven-year pro has two double-doubles on the season.
