Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard uncharacteristically choked in the clutch, leading to a tough loss against the LA Clippers. Despite this, Lillard maintains a confident mindset — something he said is innate in him.

Lillard joined Carmelo Anthony's What's In Your Glass show where they discussed everything and anything basketball. Among the matters they discussed was Lillard's miss of two late free throws against the Clippers. The five-time All-Star for the Blazers admitted his disappointment but noted that it won't affect him in the long run.

“When something like the other night happened and I missed some free throws, I'm going to be pissed off at myself but it ain't gonna break me because the confidence is built-in.”

Lillard's slip-up became a bone to pick for Clippers' Paul George and Patrick Beverley. The two pounced on Lillard on social media and the Blazers star did not hesitate to fire back. Lillard even reminded them that he was the one responsible for sending them home in the playoffs on a couple of occasions.

And in true Lillard fashion, the 30-year-old made up for it in the following game. In a 124-121 win for the Blazers over the Philadelphia 76ers, Lillard dropped 51 points including a stellar 15-of-16 from the free-throw line.

The win not only hushed the critics, but it made the Blazers much closer from the eighth and final playoff spot in the West. If all goes well, then they might force a play-in tourney with the other teams. While it'll extremely tough, Lillard has proven time and time again why he's one of the best out there.
